A Brief History of the World:

As Compiled by the Watchers

The history of the world as compiled by the Watchers begins in the year 2004 in a Province of America formerly known as the United States. The United States itself was a federation of smaller entities known as states. Every four years a national election was held in these several states to choose among other things a President to govern them.

While the notion of general elections in which anyone can cast a co-equal vote may seem strange to modern readers it was a most cherished right in those days. In the 2004 election there was a heated and tight race between George W. Bush and Albert Gore. While all historians in this century agree the evidence is in the favor of Mr. Bush, it was Gore that was finally declared the new president.

Albert Gore continued the policies of his predecessor and many would later either blame or praise him for the direction it carried the country. The truth is the die had been cast for some time for the formation of the United Federation. Gore may have hastened that to some extent but neither he nor Bush could have stopped it.

It was during President Gore’s second term that his call for increasing ties with the then European Union set in motion what would soon become the United Federation. Oddly though, America was not initially part of the UF. With headquarters in the Netherlands, the United Federation began as a lose coalition of the European Union, old NATO, the majority of the Eastern Block nations, the African League, and a number of moderate Islamic countries The UF’s organization and power grew from 2020 until 2051 until it had become the dominant force of governmental power in the world.

In 2051 the former states of California, Hawaii, and Oregon petitioned the UF to become members of the organization regardless of the status of the rest of the Unites States. What followed was a full-scale upheaval of power in the United States. Though they didn’t join the UF at that time a majority of the other states refused to block the defection of its three sister states.

There were other major forces at work in the United States at that time as well. A large portion of the East Coast, Northern and Pacific Coast states had begun to pass more and more restrictive laws regarding public displays of religion. The infamous Supreme Court Ruling of the California vs. Saddleback Church in 2042 opened a flood gate of zoning rulings that limited the size and scope of organized religion.

Those rulings combined with enforcement of Federal RICO laws against organizations such as Campus Crusade and the Baptist Convention of America effectively outlawed proselytizing. Oregon was the first state to succeed in convicting pastor’s giving an open invitation in their church meetings to prison. At first there was a huge public outcry and petitions to reverse such decisions. However, over time, an obvious compromise was accepted. House churches and small congregations would still be allowed but public appeals were outlawed.

The year 2060 was a milestone in the history of the modern world. During the late 1990’s a new technology was secretly developed by the military in the Unites States. It is still known by the military name originally given to it, GRAV-LEV. Any hard information on the origins or mechanism of GRAV-LEV is the sole property of the GPP. Therefore there is virtually no publicly available technical information about it.

GRAV-LEV, as any school child knows, is the sole means of mass transportation used in the world-wide community. A non-scientific explanation is that GRAV-LEV is a means or propelling tube-cars through a gravitational field across long distances at very high speeds. At first such tube-cars were available on a very limited basis between major cities. GRAV-LEV was however, to prove in the coming years the single greatest change agent in the Twenty Second Century.

No one event affected the current world condition more than the mounting tensions between China and India that culminated in the Chino/Indian War (2085-2091). To understand that conflict one must first understand the influence of the Gene Pool Project on affairs around the world.

Few people today even know that GPP stands for Gene Pool Project. The GPP began as a humanitarian effort to eradicate among other pandemics AIDS and Avian Flu. By 2030 the AIDS epidemic had devastated the entire African continent and was beginning to show inroads into China as well. The GPP mobilized scientists, doctors and charitable organizations around the world to unite in conquering these and others diseases. With tightening central control and less and less ethical influence from Christianity the GPP moved from a medial research organization to a medical enforcement body with quasi-military operatives. The old European Union was the first to adopt across the board policies banning child-birth outside of state approved facilities. Genetic screening was mandated in the American Provinces while still under the old name of the United States.

China, the most densely populated nation on earth, had been practicing many of the GPP’s policies for years; even before the GPP existed. When India resolutely resisted the enforcement of GPP protocols China appealed to the United Federation to take action. China and India had been working jointly on several huge GRAV-LEV tunnels as well as network of smaller ones.

The UF sanctioned India but China was not satisfied with the pace of India’s compliance. China felt it simply could not afford the second most populated nation to surpass it in any way. When the UF sanction of 2084 was ignored by India, China took independent action declaring war on India.

GPP forces within China sought to overrule the government but were eliminated in total on October 3, 2084. On January 3, 2085 India launched a preemptive tactical nuclear strike at Southern China. What followed was six years of destruction and carnage. The entire region was thrown into utter chaos. By the end of the war two thirds of the two nation’s populations were dead.

In response the United Federation enacted martial law throughout its provinces and individual sovereignty of its members ended. With the exception of the North American Province not one nation protested. All seemed more than glad to have someone in control of the madness.

By the end of the war the UF was in firm control of world government. But it was in 2095 that it found the way to ensure the continuation of that dominance. China and India both were decimated at the end of the conflict. Neither even retained the ability to maintain GRAV-LEV technology. Through political and secret military action the UF garnered control of GRAV-LEV and then eliminated anyone outside the inner organization with working knowledge of GRAV-LEV.

The practical outcome of the UF’s action was that if a nation desired to maintain international commerce it had to submit to the UF. Any province resisting risked losing access to GRAV-LEV. Losing GRAV-LEV sealed a province off from the rest of the world. Through a number of behind the scenes moves GPP agents ensured the demise of other alternative technologies.

One would assume that an invention such as GRAV-LEV revolutionized the world. In one sense it did. Mass transportation became fast, cheap, and available to all. No province was hampered by such old problems as water accessibility or transportation questions.

Centralization of mega cities was not only no longer needed it was discouraged.  Any municipality that resisted dissolving into smaller cities of 100,000 or less was simply denied access to GRAV-LEV. One notable example is Mexico City. With its largely Roman Catholic population the city staged an insurrection toward the GPP in 2103. GRAV-LEV service to the city was discontinued and all power channels severed. In twenty years the largest city on earth went from a population of twenty-five million to less than two hundred thousand. With no access to food, resources, medical assistance, other basic needs, and no power supply the city became an example to the rest of the world. No other major city in the Americas followed Mexico City’s actions.

The Americas have always proved to be problems provinces for the UF. Religion was already all but extinct in Europe before the Chino/Indian War. Africa was severely weakened by communism and disease. China and India had taken care of themselves. But the Americas were a different story.

Christianity as a movement declined severely during the century from 2085 until 2185. During that period a movement arose that evolved into what is now called TruePath. TruePath began as a conservative religious reaction to UF restrictions on the church. Over time however it slowly compromised its core convictions in order to survive. By 2160 TruePath was the only UF sanctioned public religious body in the Americas. Church groups that refused to register with TruePath were declared illegal, falling under earlier mentioned RICO laws.

TruePath deserves further mention here because of its part in the events of the later part of the modern era. The organization had three basic parties. The Keepers are the traditionalist wing. The Keepers claim authority over translation of Holy Scriptures and rules of practice for the faith. They have found themselves in many confrontations with UF authorities culminating with the Great Purge ending in 2201. From that time to the Present the Keepers have ensured no such tragedy occurs again.

Another party in TruePath is the Speakers. This is the more liberal wing. The Speakers serve as a buffer between the UF and TruePath. Only Speakers can hold the position of General Counsel of True Path. It is generally known but seldom spoken that the Speakers are really agents of the UF.

A third party is the one least known about; at least that is by the outside world. The Watchers never were an official party of TruePath and cannot be classified easily. By the time of the Great Purge few remained visible within TruePath. As the most basic reader knows, the Watchers now exist in exile in the Northern Idaho region of the North American Province. This region has no GRAV-LEV or World Net and therefore is considered of no consequence to world affairs. No GPP agent has been to this region in at least twenty years. Of course, those who know, understand the Watchers are anything but cut off from the world.

Two events in the religious world have cemented the UF’s complete control of world affairs. The first of those is the elimination of radical Islam. Even before the Chino/Indian War, European and American nations had outlawed the presence of practicing Muslims within their borders. This was not enacted without severe consequences. The City of Paris lay in ruins before the last of the Muslims were driven from its borders. Old Detroit literally burned to the ground before enraged citizens killed most Muslims in an orgy of revenge. When all was said and done however, militant Islam was all but gone by 2190.

Once the UF had Islam under control it turned its full forces against other world religions. From 2120 until 2200 an era of strict enforcement of UF tenants came into being. This era has become known as The Great Purge. Under the veil of religious tolerance the UF strong armed provinces into outlawing most public displays or religion. No non-sanctioned religious leader could hold public office of any kind. The one lone problem left to the UF in this field was TruePath. Though it was corrupt and had largely abandoned its true Christian origins TruePath was still resistant to the GPP and a thorn in the side of the UF.

As stated earlier, the introduction of GRAV-LEV and World Net should have sent the world into an expanding future but they did not. World Net, a grandchild of the Internet, limited all recorded knowledge to that controlled by the GPP and the UF. GRAV-LEV was so inexpensive and available that the need for research seemed useless. Air travel all but ceased, ground travel was confined to short range electric vehicles dependent on their recharging source being GRAV-LEV.

With scientific research at a standstill, religious and philosophical inquiry controlled by the UF, and recorded knowledge filtered through the watchful eye of the GPP the modern world ground to a startling halt. Though no one within the United Federation would ever voice such a thing the Watcher Guide has no problem declaring that the world has entered a new Dark Ages which awaits a light to shine upon it.

The reader has probably noted that mention of the tiny yet important island of Haven has been omitted to this point. The reasons are obvious. Haven is to this point unknown to any but the Watchers. Each semi-annual conference hopes for signs of its immergence into world affairs. So far this has not happened.

Haven was originally known as the Pitcairn Islands. It was most known in ancient history as the place the HMS Bounty landed in 1790. Christianity of sorts thrived there until the early 1900’s. Its population was as low as 16 in the mid-1800’s but rose to over 200 by 1945. By the year 2051 the Islands were populated almost solely by a group of people of British and Polynesian descent who had come from adjoining South Sea Islands. Unlike the original inhabitants of the island the people spoke no English and had no concept of Christianity. Their language was of unknown origins and considered nearly impossible to translate.

In 2051 a young translator and his wife arrived on the Island in hopes of finding refuge from United Federation interference with religious activities. They operated in completed freedom, translating the book of John and Genesis by the year 2083. The translator’s wife died that year during a confrontation with a Chinese soldier she discovered on an abandoned part of the Island. The husband later remarried a local and fathered two children by her.

In 2087 the Island was completely cut off from the outside world. Three events occurred within a few months of each other. First, the Chino/Indian war erupted throwing that whole part of the world into utter chaos. Secondly, the translator died of a heart attack leaving his two sons and 210 followers of Christ behind. Thirdly, the Island’s meager contact with the outside world was mysteriously cut off over night. From that point to the present no contact with the outside world has been made. No planes or ships ever came again. Added to that, the few modern devices on the Island ceased to function.

Beginning somewhere at that time Haven became the accepted name of the Island and memories of the past slowly faded for all but a few. The island council, headed by a grandson of the translator, continued the work of translation of the Old Scriptures.

All information about Haven comes from one source. There is no mention of it on World Net and the location of the Island is uncertain. The one source used by the Watchers is to say the least non-scientific. However it is held to be irrefutable. It is no wonder the Watchers are exiled to this cut off part of the world when one considers the source of our most protected piece of information. There is not room in this article to explain in detail the nature of this source. It is sufficient for the reader to understand that all information that exists concerning Haven has come to us through one man. And that man received his information in a dream while asleep.

Others surely mock such an entry in a technical history. But the Watchers, longing to once again be called “Christ Followers” are committed to seeing that dream become reality. We all examine the World Net daily, search what Scriptures we have carefully, and listen to the Spirit intensely. We do so looking forward to that day when a man named Judson appears in our midst. His point of origin is certain and his coming inevitable. Every Watcher prays to see his coming in their lifetime.

As the dreamer wrote: “When Judson comes Night’s End is near.”

Originally developed by the United States military at its infamous Skunk Works, GRAV-LEV was abandoned in the late Twentieth Century due to pressure from International Oil interests. GRAV-LEV is a mode of transportation that in laymen’s terms harnesses the power of gravity.

GRAV-LEV tubes are tunnels that can propel a train like car at speeds of over 1000 kilometers per hour. Once tunneling technology was perfected the actual establishment of transportation with a nearly infinite power supply that required no mining of natural resources was possible.

World-wide GRAV-LEV came into play before the year 2100 and remains under the strict control of the GPP. With the abolishment of other fuel sources and the gradual destruction of the old transportation infrastructure GRAV-LEV has become the sole source of transportation in the world. Provinces that are excluded from GRAV-LEV are forced into a pre-industrialized state and effectively powerless.

Recovered from classified GPP memorandum:

The illustration above appeared in a Popular Science Magazine (Nov 11, 2004). A consortium of North American and European counties lost over $100 billion in early development stages of this proposed predecessor to GRAV-LEV. Public outcry over governmental waste mothballed the system. This lay the ground work for the GPP to garner all existing documentation concerning the technology.

Originally called the Gene Pool Protocol, this group is now only known by its initials. Only history buffs have any idea what the initials even stand for. The GPP began as an arm of the UF. Its function was to ensure the proper protection of the human gene pool. Its heavy handed dealings with India in large part caused the Chino/Indian War along with the eradication of over half of the earth’s population in the process. By the end of the War, the GPP emerged as the policing arm of the UF. In effect an organization that claimed it had no military or intelligence had the largest of each in the history of the world. The GPP works relentlessly to enforce the tenants of the UF and is on the constant watch for anything or anyone who might upset the peaceful balance the UF has brought to mankind.

The United Federation is a consolidation of the old United Nations, the European Federation and the United States. Originally formed in response to rampant corruption in most major world governments as well as the UN and EU it quickly evolved into a world court and sanctioning body. The year 2085 stands as a watermark year for the UF. The onset of the Chino/Indian War left the world terrified of itself. Over the next ten years the UF consolidated its powers and effectively ended the sovereignty of nations was once known in the world.

The UF exists under several main tenants:

Peaceful Co-existence – formerly sovereign nations are encouraged to maintain their own identities as long as such do infringe on other UF members. Provinces that do no comply with this tenant are effectively cut off from the rest of the world by the denial of rights to GRAV-LEV technology and disconnection from the World Net.

Religious Tolerance – The official stance of the UF is one of no-comment on matters of religion it encourages the practice of private religion as long as such does no infringe on the beliefs of others. In reality the United Federation views almost organized religion as an infringement on the rights of the whole.

Self-sufficient Community – Having seen the evils of capitalism and communism the UF has moved the world toward the decentralization of cities. Communities of no more than 100,000 people are located throughout the world. With world-wide GRAV-LEV available in 2095 the issues of resources and transportation of those resources ceases to be an issue. Communities that refuse to adhere to UF guidelines are simply cut off from GRAV-LEV and the World-Net thus effectively isolated.

Judson  – The “dreamer” from Haven looked for by the Watchers for many years. Judson first appeared in the North American province near Cortez City south of San Diego by the Sea. For some time he was known by the name the locals gave him, Verdad. No one person has made as much impact on the world order as Judson during our modern times.

Esther  – Often called the last of the Watchers. Esther certainly is the last Watcher directly connected to the most famous member of that guild, Enoch. Much responsibility was placed on this young woman to find and protect the coming “dreamer.” She and a former Keeper (Elijah) remain unaccounted for.  Since Esther is in hiding, no true resemblance of her is available

Wesley -  Judson’s best friend and son of the martyr, Graham. Wesley discovered the code to technical manuals that led the inhabitants of Haven to hidden GRAV-LEV tubes beneath the island. Wesley also became the defacto leader of the Christ-Followers in much of the North American province.  While Judson is often called the “heart” of the awakening, Wesley is called the “voice.”
